If the kettle still goes out before the water is boiling, contact the shop of
purchase.
Lime filter
The kettle has a lime filter in the spout. Remove the filter for cleaning by
opening the lid of the kettle and carefully pulling the filter from the filter holder.
Now the lime can easily be removed by using a washing-up brush under
running water or you can put the kettle in a descaling means for a couple of
minutes, e.g. when you descale the kettle. After cleaning, but the filter back in
the filter holder and press carefully until it engages with a click.
descaling
The kettle should be descaled at regular intervals. If it takes more time than
usual to bring the water to boil or if the kettle goes off too soon, this is an
indication that the kettle needs descaling.
• Do not boil more water than you need. This will save energy due to a
shorter boiling time and you will be sure that the kettle is emptied each
time, which reduces the building-up of limestone.
• Check at regular intervals whether limestone has been built up and add
household vinegar to cover the bottom and leave it like that for a couple of
hours. Empty the kettle and rinse carefully with water before use.
• In case of a heavy build-up of limestone, use a decalcifier, citric acid or
similar that you can buy in the store. Always follow the instructions on
the package, and remember to bring the kettle to a boil a couple of times
subsequently and to pour out the water. As an alternative, you could put
water half way up in the kettle and add the juice of a lemon. Bring the
mixture to boil and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Let the mixture boil 3
times and let it rest for 15 minutes between each boiling. Next, empty the
kettle and rinse carefully.
• Repeat the descaling procedure if necessary and descale more often, if
necessary.
ImpORtANt!
Never use sharp items to remove limestone, as these may
damage the appliance and make it unusable. If the appliance is not descaled
on a regular basis, the appliance may become useless. Such damage is not
covered by the warranty.
The housing of the kettle can be cleaned with a damp cloth and wiped. Do not
use scouring or etching detergents. Neither the appliance nor the conductive
base is dishwasher-proof.
Disposal of the appliance
Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment shall be
collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and electronic equipment
marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment
must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.
