OBH Nordica Solo Toaster
Before use
Before the toaster is used for the first time, please read the instruction manual carefully and
save it for future use.
How to use the toaster
Put the toaster on a heat-resistant, plane surface. Plug in the appliance. Before using the
toaster for the first time, operate it without bread in order to remove any impurities.
Position the timer at the desired toasting setting. There are 6 settings, of which 1 is the
shortest toasting cycle (the palest one) and step 6 is the longest toasting cycle (the darkest
one). The further up the scale, the longer the toasting cycle. Please note that dry bread
requires a shorter toasting cycle than fresh bread. Put the slice in the slot and depress the
lever until locking.
IMPORTANT! The lever will not engage if the toaster has not been plugged in.
When the toasting is done, the bread will automatically pop up. The lever goes automatically
into the upper position and the toaster is also automatically switched off. If it is difficult to get
the bread out of the toaster, you may use the “high rise” function: the lever can be lifted
further, which makes it easier to pull out the bread.
Bread may burn! Consequently, do not use the toaster close to or underneath curtains,
kitchen cupboards and other combustible material and always keep an eye on the
toaster.
Be aware that the wires of the heating element expand individually when the toaster is
switched on and that the red colouring will look differently. This is quite normal and has no
effect on the result of the toasting.
If you want to stop the toasting before the lever has risen, turn back the timer at 0 and the
toasting will stop. Remember: The lever is not locked if the timer is at 0.
Be careful! The surface of the toaster gets very hot during use!
If a piece of bread gets stuck during toasting, pull out the plug and let the toaster cool off.
Another possibility is to turn upside-down the toaster and shake it carefully in order to let go
of the bread. If this fails, try to manoeuvre the bread – but never use metallic items and be
careful not to touch the heating element as this may be damaged, in which case the warranty
does not cover the damage. Do not use too big slices of bread, as these may get stuck in the
toaster.
Winding of the cord
Please note that the toaster comprises a cord winding device in the bottom, which makes it
easy to store when not in use.
