To Light a Burner
Lighting a burner is easy and only takes five to ten seconds:
1. Be sure the propane valve circuit breaker in the DC panel
is on.
2. Turn on the remote propane valve on the fly bridge by
operating the over-the-sink “Solenoid” switch (the pilot
light on the switch panel will light).
3. Push in the selected burner control knob (all the way) and
turn it past the “lightening flash” symbol; hold it in until it
lights the gas.
Note: If a propane tank has just been serviced, it may
take a while for air to get out of the line from the tank
before the burner lights. This is normal!
4. After the burner lights, continue to hold the knob in for about 20 seconds after ignition while the
thermocouple heats up before adjusting the flame to the desired intensity.
5. If ignition fails, check to be sure there is propane in the flybridge tank and the tank’s own valve is turned
“ON”
To Light the Oven
Follow the same procedure as for a burner, above.
Broil with the door open, and do not run the broiler for more than twenty minutes at a time!
4N2: Microwave
The microwave is conventional, operating just as one does in the home ashore. Be sure to remove the metal
rack (the metal turn table should always stay in).
4N3: Refrigerator and Freezer - Galley; Salon Freezer
The boat is equipped with an efficient refrigerator that runs on 12 volts DC or 110 volts AC. The compressor is
in the engine room to keep noise minimal.
Refrigeration temperatures are controlled by the thermostat on the outside of the refrigerator on the midships
side; set
after allowing the refrigerator to stabilize for a few hours after loading
.
The separate
refrigerator
breakers in the DC and AC control panels should be left on at all times.
The freezer operates on the same principle, except that it runs only on 12V DC. Turn its breaker
“On” in the DC electrical panels. It’s thermostat is inside the freezer.
4N4: Propane Tanks
The boat’s propane tank is under the aft side of the port seat on the flybridge.
It’s valve can be left “on”,
since another “solenoid” valve operated by the switch in the galley protects the crew.
