IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
The following precautions must be taken each time an electrical appliance is used.
• To protect against the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the unit base in water
or other liquid.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use, before installing or removing parts, and before cleaning.
• Avoid contact with moving parts.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions,
or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact and return the appliance to NUK USA
customer service (tel: 1-888-NUK-1238) or to the nearest authorized service facility for
examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
• If the flex is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service center
or by similarly qualified personnel in order to avoid hazards.
• The use of attachments not recommended or sold by NUK USA may cause fire, electric
shock or injury.
• Do not use outdoors.
• A short power supply cord (or short detachable power-supply cord) is provided to reduce
the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
• Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• If an extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance;
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding
type 3-wire cord; and
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally
(especially by children).
• Do not let cord hang over the edge of table or counter and be in contact with a hot surface.
• Before the first use, ensure that the electrical voltage being used is compatible with
the appliance.
• Always place the steamer/blender on a dry, flat surface, out of the reach of children.
