4. Carefully guide the probe head 5 into the
ear canal until it rests on the ear canal
(see figure
E and F ).
5. Press and hold the SCAN button 2 until
you hear a beep.
6. Remove the probe head 5 from the ear
canal.
The egg-timer symbol is
displayed and stops flashing after
about 4 seconds. Two short
beeps indicate that the result has been
determined.
7. Read off the measured result in the LCD
display 3 .
The device automatically switches to
room temperature mode after approx.
one minute.
5.4 Measurement at the temple
Make sure the temples are dry, clean and
free from make-up when taking the
temperature. Avoid placing the device on
any scarred areas.
1. Press the Standby (ON/MEM) button
7 to
switch on the device.
The adjacent symbol will appear
in the LCD display
3 and you will
hear two beeps.
2. Remove the cover 1 from the probe
head 5 (see figure C ).
3. Press and hold the Stand-by (ON/MEM)
button 7 and, at the same time, press the
SCAN button 2 once.
The temples symbol will appear
on the LCD display
3 . The
"temple measurement mode" is
thus activated, used for reading the
temperature at the temples.
4. Touch the skin on the right or left temple
with the sensor lens 4 of the
thermometer (see figure G ).
