Helpful Hints

1. 2 skeins of yarn are included to get you started.  We suggest purchasing
additional eyelash yarn or smooth 3 ply yarn to make more projects.
2. If yarn becomes stuck on top of needle, push to release.
3. Do not turn the crank handle to hard to too fast, as this may damage the machine.
4. You must maintain proper tension on the yarn through the tension piece, otherwise
  you may drop a stitch.
5. When starting out, be sure that the yarn is fed through the notch in the feeder.
6. Do not use yarn that is textured or lumpy.  Smooth yarn works best.
1. One line of a tube = 5 1/2 rotations of the handle.  You can mark the top of one hook
with a permanent marker (with adult supervision) to indicate a complete rotation.
2. As you turn the handle, pull out your knitted piece from underneath.  Watch out for
  twisting.

How to Make a Poncho (you will need six or seven skeins of yarn for this project.
(This is not included in this set).

1. Load the machine to make a flat panel.
Make sure the switch is in the up position.
2. Knit six flat panels, 175 lines long.  You can use

one color or multiple colors.

3. Sew three panels together using a piece of yarn
and the plastic needle.  Attach the long sides.
Sew the other three panels together the same way.
You now have two wide pieces (See diagram A).
4. To assemble your poncho, sew the short end of
piece 1 to the long end of piece 2
  (See diagram B).
5. Now sew the short end of piece 2 to the long end
of piece 1 (See diagram C).
6. Now load your machine to make a tube and knit
80 rows.  Remove tube from the machine,
finish both ends leaving them open, not cinched.
Sew the ends together  to make a circle.  This will
  be your poncho’s neck piece.
7. Sew the tube around the edge of the opening
where your head will go (See diagram D).
8. Add fringe to the edges of your poncho if you
desire.  You can also add pom poms, embroidery,
a drawstring and more details if you desire.
