RECORDER’S MENU
Leftmost column of the table allows for enabling/disabling the text-in function for desired ports (
RS-
232 or RS-485 ).
Title
column allows for changing the title of a given port.
Selecting
Setup
displays the following screen:
In order to properly capture the text data, the parameters set in the menu above have to be in
accordance with the parameters of the data generated by external devices, as well as their
manufacturer’s specifications.
RS-232 and RS-485 configuration procedure is identical.
Transaction begin
allows for setting the first string of characters (via virtual keyboard) that will be
interpreted as the beginning of transaction. In case when transaction starts with different characters,
please check „
Any Char.
” box. If set, the
Transaction Begin
field becomes inactive.
Transaction End
allows for setting the ending string of characters (via virtual keyboard) that will be
interpreted as the end of transaction. Please consult the manual or manufacturer of external device in
order to obtain the ending character string.
Ignore String
allows for setting the ignored characters.
Line Delimiter allows for setting the characters that will be interpreted as end of the line allowing for
convenient formatting of the text.
Available delimiters are:
LF
- new line
CR
- return to the beginning of the line.
Note: Once RS-232 and RS-485 ports are set to text capture, they cannot be used for any other
function.
