Installing Business Continuity Clustering

At a terminal console prompt, enter

yast2 add-on

On the Add-On Product Media page, select

Local

Next

Select

ISO Image

, then browse to locate and select the file, click

Open

Read the Business Continuity Clustering License Agreement, click

Yes

to accept it, then

click

Next

When the installation source is added, it appears in the list on the Add-On Product Media
page.

On the Add-Product Media page, click

Finish

The new installation source is synchronized with the Software Updater. The

Software

Updater

icon in the Notification area indicates that updates are ready.

In YaST, select

Software > Software Manager

, search for BCC, select the three

.rpm

files, then

click

Accept

to install the packages.

novell-business-continuity-cluster.rpm
novell-business-continuity-cluster-idm.rpm
yast-novell-bcc.rpm

You can also double-click the Software Updater icon in the Notification area, then select the
BCC

.rpm

files.

After the packages are installed, exit YaST.

4.4.2 Configuring BCC Software

Perform the following tasks for each of the nodes in every peer cluster:

to install and configure the BCC software.

Click

Continue

if you are prompted to configure LDAP.

In the eDirectory Tree dialog box, specify the eDirectory Administrator user password that you
used when you installed the operating system, then click

Specify the typeful fully distinguished eDirectory name for the cluster where the server is
currently a member.

Select

Start BCC services now

to start the software immediately following the configuration

process.
If you deselect the check box, you must manually start BCC services later by entering the
following at the terminal console prompt:

rcnovell-bcc start
