chapter 8
TESTINg OF ThE OIl PUMP ElECTRONIC A2
The connection x15/x25 is separated for this test. Connect the test probes with plug x15. The polarity is not important at this point. If there is
a voltage increase of +18V or -18V = DC for the short time pulse of 0.16 sec. at plug x15, the oil pump electronic is in good order.
• If the test shows 18 V= DC continuous voltage, the oil pump electronic A2 is most likely defective.
• Note: If there is continuous voltage, the oil pump y1 will be warm up from the generated heat in the internal coil.
• Continuous measurement of 0V at x15 = oil pump electronic A2 is defective.
chapter 9
OPERATINg METhOD OF ThE ElECTRO-MAgNETIC OIl PUMP
The electro-magnetic oil pump incorporates an electric coil, a mechanical piston pump and two one-way valves. The supply of voltage excites
the internal coil. This produces an alternating movement of the piston in its position and a pre-set volume of oil is pumped.
chapter 10
TESTINg OF ThE ElECTRO-MAgNETIC OIl PUMP
After successfully testing the oil pump electronic A2, the oil pump y1 needs to be tested for its resistance value. Separate the plug and
connector x15/x25 and adjust the multimeter for resistance Ω reading. Place the test probe against connector x25 and read the resistance
value from the dial of the multimeter.
• Resistance value between 14 – 22 Ω = the coil of the oil pump is in good
• Resistance value shows 0Ω or > 22 Ω = oil pump is defective.
Note: Even if pump noises (acoustic clicking) emanate from the oil pump, mechanical damage of the diaphragm or linkage cannot be
excluded » replacement of the pump.
chapter 11
SPECIFIC ChECk OF ThE OIl PUMP
This check of the pump function can only be made with the supply of direct voltage!!!
Test the oil pump directly on the connection with 12 V = DC. Caution: Apply voltage very briefly. Individual pump noises must be audible.
Additional assistance can be found in the schematic diagram for fault diagnosis.
