Universal Analog Voice Module 

The Universal Analog Voice Module (UAVM) consists of two channels into which 
one of the four voice interface modules (E&M, FXO, FXS, or Voice/Fax Switch 
module), is inserted. The Universal Analog Voice Module must be configured 
with the correct jumper settings for the types of interface modules you plan to 
use before you can connect the modules to the network. Voice interface modules 
can be connected with either RJ-11 modular cables or with a direct connection 
to a terminal block.

The Universal Analog Voice Module consists of a motherboard and one or two 
interface modules (see Figure 6-9 below).
