ISDN BRI Voice Module

The following specifications pertain to the ISDN BRI Voice Module.

Interface Type:

Basic Rate Interface (BRI)

Number of Channels:

2 B-channels, 1 D-channel

B-Channel:

Each B-channel carries PCM-coded voice at a rate of
64 kb/s

D-Channel:

The D-channel carries signaling information for both
B-channels at a rate of 16 kb/s.

Signaling Type:

ETSI QSIG, utilizing the Basic Call (BC) protocol

Interface Emulation:

In its present application, the unit will be strapped
for NT, connecting to the trunk side (TE) of an ISDN
PBX.

Indicators:

Three green front-panel LED indicators, monitoring
the activities of the 2 B-channels and the D-channel.
See Table 1-1 for details

Number of Switches:

2 switch groups

Module Location:

This switch group is used to set the logical slot
location that the module occupies within the
Passport 4400 unit.

Port Termination:

This switch group is used to set the input impedance
of the BRI port; default value is 100 W
