AMPS Tuning Tx Modulation Index

Description of Test

This test tunes the Gain in the DSP so that the amplitude of TX_MOD go-
ing into the Tx VHF VCO produces the correct peak deviation of the RF.
Click the WinTesla Help button for equipment set up.

Definition of Result

The result is the DSP Gain, which gives 2KHz +/–0.05KHz peak deviation
at the RF output. This DSP Gain is stored to eeprom.

Manual Verification

Use WinTesla as follows:

Trouble Shooting

Check the following components in the Tx VHF VCO to see if they are
damaged V501, V504, V508, V511 and L504.

NOTE: If any of these components are replaced then the Tx Modulation
Index must be re–tuned.
