■ Sharpening the Cutter
Make sure that the saw chain is appropriately installed
to the guide bar before sharpening.
(Refer to "3.1 Installation and Removal of Saw Chain
Guide Bar.")
Note
● Use a round file for sharpening (attached) of φ5/32”
(4mm.)
Follow the procedure below for sharpening.
Allow the round file to be protruded from the
cutter upper face by 1/5 in diameter (0.8mm),
and put a file horizontally (at right angle to the
side face of the guide bar), and file the cutter
from the inside to outside.
Note
● Cutters are set in the opposite direction
(lateral direction) alternately. Pay attention to
the set direction.
When sharpening the upper blade, the angle
between the round file and the saw chain must
be 30°.
Lengths of all the cutters must be the same.
When the length of the cutter becomes 4mm or
less, replace it.
