While lifting the guide bar upward,
apply tension to the saw chain with
the tensioning bolt [3] so that the saw
chain is closely fitted with the guide
bar.

While lifting the guide bar, tighten the
guide bar nut [1] with a tool.

Make sure that the saw chain can be
moved by hand easily.

Note

● If it cannot be moved easily, repeat from the

step 1.

Install the transportation guard.
(Refer to 1.3.3 Protective Guard.)

Note

● Since a new saw chain is easier to be slack than used one, frequently check the tension of the saw

chain.
