5.3- RESET PROCEDURE OF THE TRACTION SPEED CONTROL
POTENTIOMETER P1
If the accelerator pedal potentiometer P P P P1 1 1 1 has to be replaced (or if the
machine is too slow, or if the electronic board S S S SK K K K3 3 3 3 has to be replaced) it
could be necessary to proceed with the reset of the potentiometer itself
according to the following procedure:
a a a a---- Switch the machine off by turning the key counter clockwise

b b---- Disconnect the battery
c c c c---- Remove the pedal from the machine footboard and remove the plastic
cover: in this way you can see the potentiometer P

d d---- Disconnect the potentiometer from the machine (e.g. by disengaging the
connector some centimetres far away from the potentiometer itself)

e e---- Loosen the screw which fixes the potentiometer shaft and place the
rotating shaft in the end of stroke position at zero Ohm (or in any case lower
than 15 Ohm): measure the potentiometer resistance value with a
Ohmmeter
ffff---- Connect the potentiometer connector - paying attention that the shaft
doesn’t rotate – re-connect the battery and switch the machine on again
(only with the key)

g g---- Enter the Technical Program of the machine and reach row N° 12 (or in
any case the last row, i.e. when all lighting zeros appear on the display)

h h---- Temporarily press the suction motor control button on the dash board
iiii---- Exit from the Technical Program by keeping the display yellow button
pressed until the battery voltage re-appears.
Now you must:
jjjj---- Switch the machine off
kkk k---- Approach again the potentiometer under the accelerator pedal
llll---- Disconnect the potentiometer
m m m m---- Set the potentiometer at a value between 150 Ohm and 300 Ohm

n n---- Reconnect the potentiometer and remount the pedal; switch the machine
on again by turning only the key;
o o o o---- Check that - with the wheels lifted from the floor - the voltage across the
traction motor (M

5 5) terminals is equal to the battery voltage when the
accelerator pedal is in the maximum speed position. If the voltage across
