Movies

Recording Movies

Follow the instructions below to shoot movies with sound recorded via the
built-in microphone.

Select

mode.

• The maximum length of the movie that can be

recorded is displayed in the monitor.

Press the shutter-release button

to start recording.

• A progress bar at the bottom of the

monitor shows the amount of recording
time remaining.

• To end recording, press the shutter-

release button again.

• Recording will end automatically when the internal memory or memory card is

full.

Recording Movies

• The flash (

24), self-timer (

26), and exposure compensation (

28) can not be used in

movie mode. Macro close-up (

27) can be used while movies are being recorded.

• Digital zoom (up to 2×) can be applied while movies are being recorded. Adjust optical

zoom before beginning recording. Once recording begins, optical zoom cannot be
adjusted.

• Vibration reduction (

100) is available when vibration reduction is set to On in the setup

menu.

• The maximum file size that can be recorded is 2 GB.

Settings for Movie Mode

The movie options and the auto-focus mode option can be set in the movie menu (

51, 53).
