Read the complete user manual before carrying out the installation and activating the system.
Keep the manual for future reference.
1. DESCRIPTION
The
wireless Easywave window or door contact
(transmitter) is used to control wireless Easywave
receivers. A battery, mounting bracket with magnet and a mounting set are included.
The product is part of the Easywave radio frequency system, a wireless installation technique between the
push buttons (control points) and the consumers to be operated. The Easywave system is a modular system
with transmitters and receivers. A wall transmitter has the form of a push button with two, four or eight
action buttons and can be mounted on a wall. A hand-held transmitter looks like a traditional remote control
unit. One transmitter can operate an unlimited number of receivers simultaneously, while one receiver can
be controlled by a maximum of 32 transmitters.
The remote control or wireless control operates on the basis of signal transmission via radio waves at
a frequency of 868.3 MHz. This frequency only allows products that emit signals no more than 1% per
hour or 36 seconds, which reduces the risk of interrupted signals to an absolute minimum. Therefore,
the wireless Easywave system is excellently suited to specific applications, such as renovations of listed
interiors, extensions of existing electrical installations (where drilling or channelling is not possible), for use
in offices with moveable partitions or walls or in installations where complicated wiring must be avoided.
2. INSTALLATION
2.1. Mounting
Tip:
Always take the local conditions and surroundings (Fig. 1) into account when you mount the contact.
Tip:
Ensure that the wireless signal transmission between receiver and contact is not obstructed. Place the
receiver as close to the contact as possible.
Tip:
The presence of metal or moisture in the walls can negatively influence the range of the wireless
signals (Fig. 1). Therefore, never place the contact:
• in a metal electrical cabinet, housing or netting.
• in the vicinity of large metal objects.
• on or close to the ground.
1. Screw open the top of the contact (Fig. 2, A).
2. Place the battery supplied in the battery holder (Fig. 2, B). The positive pole must be pointing upward.
3. Slide the battery holder back into the contact between the battery spring and the printed circuit board
(Fig. 2, C).
4. Program the contact to the selected wireless Easywave receiver (see receiver manual).
To do this, set the receiver in programming mode. Move the magnet over the contact surface of the
contact (shaded part on the underside of the contact). The code is transmitted to the receiver.
5. Mount the contact in a location of your choice (e.g., door or window) using the screws or adhesive
strip provided (Fig. 2, D).
6. Screw the top of the contact closed (Fig. 2, E).
7. Affix the magnet to the door leaf or the window casement, precisely opposite the marked contact
surface on the underside of the contact (Fig. 2, F).
The maximum allowable distance between the magnet and the contact is 5 mm (Fig. 3).
3. OPERATION AND USE
3.1. General operation
The wireless Easywave window or door contact (transmitter) is a magnetic contact that transmits the status
of objects via wireless signals to a wireless Easywave receiver.
If the window or door is opened or closed, an Easywave code is transmitted, and the connected, wireless
Easywave receiver switches, depending on the set operating mode.
Action

LED signal
The window or the door is
opened.
Code A (standard function) is
transmitted.
The status LED on the front of
the contact flashes red once.
The window or the door is closed. Code B (standard function) is
transmitted.
The status LED on the front of
the contact flashes green once.
3.2. Detection range between Easywave hand-held transmitters and wireless Easywave
receivers
The operation of devices that are controlled via a remote control unit, such as TVs or video and audio
devices, is not disrupted by an Easywave hand-held transmitter. You are not required to optically aim the
hand-held transmitter at the wireless Easywave receiver. The indoor detection range is approximately
30 m. In open spaces, a detection range of 100 m is attained. The range of the hand-held transmitter
depends on the materials used in the residence. You can use a diagnostic device (05-370) to determine the
wireless signal strength in a given area. The device recognizes all 868.3 MHz signals. Based on nine status
LEDs, the reception quality of the transmission signal or the strength of the interference signals present is
displayed. This way you can determine whether the range of the hand-held transmitter is sufficient. Figure
1 shows the loss of quality of the transmission range depending on the materials used. You can use a
wireless Easywave repeater (05-535) in installations with insufficient range.
3.3. Battery
If the battery is empty, this is indicated via the status LED on the front of the contact, and a notification is
transmitted.
Indication
Status
Action
- The status LED flashes red or
green for three seconds.
- A notification has been
transmitted.
The battery is almost empty.
You must replace the battery
soon.
- The status LED flashes red two
times in succession every nine
seconds.
- The contact is deactivated.
The status LED turns red after
you have installed a battery.
The battery is empty.
You must replace the battery
immediately.
The status LED turns red and
stays red without flashing.
Je hebt een eerdere melding
genegeerd om de batterij te
vervangen. Het contact kan niet
meer werken.
De spanning van de batterij is
te laag.
How do I replace the battery?
1. Screw open the top of the contact.
2. Pull on the lip to remove the battery holder from the contact, and replace the battery. Pay attention to
the polarity: the positive pole must be visible.
Tip:
Only use type CR2032 batteries.
3. Screw the top of the housing back onto the contact.
Attention:
The coding of the contact is maintained even if the contact is live. After you have replaced
the battery, you do not have to reprogram the coding on the selected wireless Easywave receiver.
4. TROUBLESHOOTING
1. If the Easywave system does not work after being programmed, you can always first perform a
number of extra checks:
• Check whether the
shield between the battery and the contacts in the contact
has been
removed.
• Check whether there is
good contact integrity between the battery and the battery
contacts
.
• Check the
operation of the connected receiver
. Press the programming button (P) on the front
of the receiver. If the status LED does not flash, the receiver is defective.
• Check the
operation of the contact
. Take the contact and walk toward the receiver:
- - The Easywave system only works if you bring it closer to the receiver. Use a wireless
Easywave repeater (05-535) to increase the range.
- - If the Easywave system does not work at all, even when you bring the contact closer to the
receiver, check the programming and/or the batteries of the contact.
• In the case of an existing installation, check whether the
surroundings of the Easywave
system
have changed, possibly causing interference (metal electricity cabinet, walls, moved
furniture ...). Restore the original arrangement, if possible.
2. If the problem with the device is not solved, then go through the following list of possible problems:
Problem
Cause
Solution
The receiver does not react to
the contact.
The battery is empty or almost
empty.
- Check the status of the battery.
- If necessary, replace the
battery.
In certain situations, other
wireless products that work on
the same frequency and are
located in the immediate vicinity
of the contact and the receiver
can cause interference.
Check whether the signal
transmission between transmitter
and receiver is not obstructed.
The programming was not
successful or was erased.
Program the codes again on
the selected wireless Easywave
receiver. To do this, consult the
user manual of the receiver.
