8. Troubleshooting
In case of failure, follow the table below.
Stop the engine when troubleshooting.
* If the engine starts during operation, hands or fingers could be severed by the moving
parts or trimmer blade.

The hedge
trimmer does not
start.
Fuel runs out or fails.
Refer to “4.2.1 Start”.
Fuel filter is clogged.
Refer to “5.4.2 Cleaning of Fuel Filter”.
Mis-operation for start-up
Refer to “4.2.1 Start”.
Start/stop switch is turned
off.
Set the start/stop switch to ON.
Ignition plug is faulty.
Refer to "5.5.1 Cleaning of Spark Plug and
Adjustment of Gap".
Carburetor is faulty.
Contact the sales agency.
Water is mixed into fuel.
Replace the fuel.
Fuel is deteriorated.
(There is a lot of precipitate.)
Replace the fuel.
Output is not
enough.
Throttle cable adjustment is
faulty.
Refer to “3.4.2 Adjustment”.
Air cleaner is clogged.
Refer to “5.4.1 Cleaning of Air Clean
Element”.
Carbon has accumulated in
the muffler.
Refer to “5.6.1 Cleaning of Carbon Attached to
Muffler and Exhaust Pipe”.
Lift up lever is faulty.
If the lift up lever is kept at RUN position and not
returned automatically even when the throttle
trigger is gripped, contact the sales agency.
Mixing failure of fuel
Refer to “4.2.1 Start”.
Vibration is too
large.
Main pipe is bent.
Contact the sales agency.
Trimmer Blade is cracked or
broken.
Contact the sales agency.
Screws/nuts at the handle
mounting parts are loosened.
Check the mounting screws/nuts.
Engine stops.
Air cleaner is clogged.
Refer to “5.4.1 Cleaning of Air Clean Element”.
Carbon has accumulated in
the muffler.

Engine stops
when operating at
a low speed.
