Correction tables for nWind
The wind angle is affected by a couple of effects onboard which make the reading of
TWA wrong. This is also affection TWD (TWA plus heading). These effects are:
Up wash, the effect when the wind hit the sails and need to find a way around and over
the top. This results in a increased wind speed and also a change in wind angle. A
Mast twist, the mast is normally twisted in the mast head and that will result in an error
in wind angle (also a small error in wind speed will accure)
For the nWind transducer of Race version (wearing a green Nexus sticker on the pole),
you can adjust the wind angles by using tables for TWA and TWS.
For TWA you can calibrate ate tacking angel, at 90 degree and at reaching. It is
possible to adjust the tacking and reaching angle, however, the 90 degree is fixed.
It is preferable to enter your target wind angles from your polar for tacking and jibing.

It is not very easy to determine the corrections. The procedure is quite time consuming
but it is something you can do during the season and get the values more and more
accurate.
In short this is how it works.
If the wind speed is 12 knots and you are tacking from port to starboard you can
determine the correction at 12 kn.
Port tack:
TWA 38.5 degrees
TWD 123 degrees
