Software Overview

For software installation please use the following procedure:

1. Connect the cable from J4 port to your computer RS-232

port

2. With the computer turned on, insert the software installation

CD in the CD drive.

3. Browse to find the "setup.exe" file on the CD.

4. Double-click on the "setup.exe" file and follow the on-

screen instructions.

5. Once the installation is complete, the application installs an

icon on your desktop. CDR-Util software is now installed.

6. Start the application (no rebooting of the computer is

necessary).

4.3.1

Software Set-up

CDR-Util software must be used to configure the CDR-DCB or
CDR-STEP amplifiers to drive every new motorized positioner.

CAUTION

Selection of stage model number, motor voltage or motor current

values improper for the motor/stage connected to the driver can

damage the motor.

4.4

Navigating the User Interface

CDR-Util application is set-up in two groups:

•

Setting up parameters for Newport standard stages/actuators for
which all parameters necessary to drive the device are possibly
available in the Newport library.
