IMPORTANT
The power awnings on your King Aire all operate on 110 volt AC current. The unit must be plugged
into shore power or have the generator running to deploy or retract your awnings.
Side Awnings
Power side patio awnings are standard on your King Aire. Extension and retraction is controlled
by a switches located in the front overhead cabinet. To operate, follow these instructions:
Extending and Retracting
Turn the power “ON” to the awning. Press the “Extend” button on the
awning switch panel; the awning will fully extend. To retract the
awning, press the “Retract” button on the panel. Be sure to allow the
awning to fully extend or retract when operating it. The mechanism is
designed for best support at full extension, and fastens securely in
place for travel when fully retracted.
Manual Retraction
In the event that electricity is not
available in your unit, the power awning
can be retracted manually.
On top of the awning (at the back of the
front awning, and the front of the rear
awning) there is a “Manual Override” that
you can employ to retract the awning (see
illustration). The retraction port is always on the motor end of the awning.
IMPORTANT
If you have a wind sensor mounted in this location, you will need to remove the Phillips head screw
attaching the wind sensor, and set the wind sensor aside.
1.
Remove the Phillips head screw that is screwed into the well nut that is assisting in holding
on the end cap.
2.
Grasp rubber well nut that the Phillips head screw is screwed into. Pull the well nut out of the
hole.
3.
Take the provided 7mm Allen wrench and put it into a 3/8” battery operated drill.
4.
Place the Allen wrench down in the hole where the well nut was removed. Insert the Allen
wrench into the Allen Head screw that is down inside the case (note: you will have to do this
by feel as you cannot see the Allen Head screw once the wrench is inserted into the hole).
5.
To close the awning, operate the drill in the “forward” direction. To open the awning, operate
it in the reverse direction.
