Managing Servers with Netscape Console • December 2001

Activating SSL

Once you’ve obtained and installed a server certificate, use Netscape Console to
activate SSL on your Netscape server. The following procedure uses Netscape
Administration Server as its example. Activating SSL on other Netscape servers is
done the same way, although in some cases the interface is slightly different. For
more information on how to activate SSL on another server product, see that
server’s documentation.

To Activate SSL on a Netscape Server or a
Netscape 4.x Server

1.

In the Netscape Console navigation tree, select the server instance with which
you want to use SSL encryption.

2.

Click Open to open the management window for the server instance.

3.

Click the Configuration tab.

4.

Click the Encryption tab.
