5. Operating down
•
Erect the tripod as described in Chapter 3.
•
Important: The upper locking screw (K) on the gear column screw out until it stops. This prevents the
gear column can be lowered too much and the gear column linkage is inadvertently released and
falls down.
•
Alternately we recommend to connect the adapter for operation up (G) and the plate of 110mm
diameter to fit on the top gear column element. This will also prevent the gear column is
inadvertently lowered too far down
•
Connect the optional Nestle scanner clutch, No. 13930000, to the adapter for the operation down (F):
Only with the help of Nestle scanner clutch, No. 13930000, sure your instrument is protected against
accidental falling.
•
Put the adapter for operating down (F) on the double spigot of the gear column.
•
Tighten the looking screw (T) of adapter for operating down (F).
•
Connect the Scanner.
•
Lower with the help of the crank at the gear column to the desired depth.
•
Warning:
lower gear column only so far down that the upper locking screw (K) of the gear column is
still visible and does not disappear in the guide tube.
•
Note: Lowering the gear column can be accelerated by an optional cordless screwdriver and the
included bit holder.
•
To extend the tooth column to achieve a greater depth see chapter 7.
•
Tighten clamping screws above (A) and bottom (C).
•
Perform measurement.
