SPECIAL FUNCTION
HOLD mode
When the “
HOLD
” button is depressed, the current
measurement is held in the memory. The “H” symbol will
appear on the display. In order to exit the
HOLD
mode, press
again the “
HOLD
” button. The “H” symbol disappears from the
display.
Relative measurement mode
In order to activate the relative measurement mode, press the
“
∆/DCA”0
” button. (the
∆
symbol will appear on the display).
Next, the result is displayed as a reference value by the relative
measurement, e.g.: if a reference value is 12V and the current
readout is 8V, then -4 V will appear on the display. If the new
readout is the same as the reference value, then zero will appear
in the display. You can exit the mode by pressing the „
∆/DCA”0
”
button again.
Manual switching of ranges
When voltage, current and resistance are measured, the
measurement range should be switched manually. Once
the „
RANGE /
” button is pressed, the instrument
switches to the manual selection mode of a measurement
range. The AUTO sign disappears on the top of the display
to indicate that the automatic mode is switched off. Each
time the
RANGE
button is pressed, the measurement range
is decreased. In order to return to the automatic selection
mode of a measurement range, press and hold the „
RANGE
/
” button for 2 seconds. The AUTO sign will appear
on the display.
OPERATION INTRODUCTION
Measuring Voltage
1. Connect the black test lead to the „
COM
” jack, and the red
one to the „
” jack,
2. Set the function/range switch to
or
position.
Select the automatic or manual mode using the „
RANGE
”
button
3. In the manual range switching mode, set the range to a
higher value, if you do not know an approximate value of
voltage measured.
4. Connect measuring probes to points, in which voltage is
to be measured.
5. Read the value from the display. Polarity is also displayed
next to the voltage value for direct current.
Important:
1. In the low range, when the measuring probes are not
connected to the measured circuit, the meter may show
unstable values. It is normal.
2. In the manual mode of range switching, when the display
shows the „OL” symbol, the range should be increased.
3. In order to prevent the meter from damaging, do not take
measurement of voltage over 600V AC or 600V DC.
Measuring Current
1. Set the function and range switch to the A or A position.
If measured current value is not known, set the meter to
a higher range.
2. Set the range switching to the automatic or manual
mode using the „
RANGE
” button. If you do not know an
approximate value of current measured, set the range to
a higher value.
3. Open the clamps using the clamp opening trigger and
put the conductor between the clamps, on which the
measurement is to be taken.
a. Make sure the measuring clamps are closed correctly.
b. The measurement can be taken on one of the
conductors of the electric system only.
c. Do not touch parts of the electric system with your
body parts.
4. Read the value from the display.
In order to eliminate magnetic hysteresis, which affects
measurement accuracy of direct current, the following must
be done before each measurement:
Move the closed clamps closer to the conductor, on which the
measurement is to be taken and press the „∆/DCA”0” button
for 1-2 seconds to reset indications of the display.
Once the display is reset, take measurement of the direct
current by holding the measured conductor with clamps. Pay
attention to complete closure of the measuring clamps during
measurements. The highest accuracy is obtained, when the
measured conductor is positioned in perpendicular to the jaw
planes and in the centre of the measuring clamps.
Important:
1. If the „OL” symbol appears on the display, when the
measurement is taken, select a higher measuring range.
Measuring Resistance
1. Connect the black test lead to the „
COM
” jack, the red test
lead to the „
„ jack .
2. 2. Set the function/range switch to the * range position,
symbol „ *” appears on the LCD.
3. Set the range switching to the automatic or manual mode
using the „
RANGE
” button. If the „OL” symbol appears on
the display, select a higher measuring range.
4. Connect the measuring probes to the point, in which
resistance is to be measured.
5. Read the value from the display.
Important:
1. When resistance >1MΩ is measured, the meter needs
some time to stabilise thge readout. It is normal for high
resistances.
