Portable Vacuum Unit
5.2.1 Micro-filter (optional)
See
. Use genuine micro-filters only.
• Change the micro-filter once a year or more often
if vacuum performance decreases despite cleaning
the fine filters. See
cro-filter. Ensure that the rubber gasket on the fil-
ter seals tightly against the base of the motor as-
sembly. Leakage between microfilter and fan inlet
must not be allowed.
5.2.2 Filter package, cartridge
See
, item a. The particles collect on the out-
side of the filter. Cleaning of the filter is carried out
hourly or when the vacuum performance decreases. If
required the cartridge filter is to be changed.
5.2.3 Filter package, PP
See
, item b. The particles collect on the out-
side of the filter. Cleaning is carried out every other
hour or when the vacuum performance decreases. If
required the filter package is to be changed. Replacing
the entire filter package is recommended. When only
changing the socks, the filter ring should also be re-
placed.
5.2.4 Filter package anti-static, PTFE
See
The filter package has been treated with an antistatic
agent, ensuring easier cleaning and less risk of sparks
and dust explosions. The particles collect on the out-
side of the filter. Cleaning is carried out every other
hour or when the vacuum performance decreases. If
required the filter package is to be changed. Replacing
the entire filter package is recommended. When only
changing the socks, the filter ring should also be re-
placed.
5.2.5 Filter package, sack
See
. The sack should be replaced if it be-
comes worn, damaged or when particles begin to pen-
etrate.
5.3 Cleaning
See
. The fine filters should be cleaned daily
or as soon as the vacuum performance has decreased.
Cleaning is carried out as follows:
1
Start (mode I, manual).
2
Disconnect the suction hose so that the flap valve
closes.
3
Pull up and release the clearing control on top of
the power unit, four times at a few seconds inter-
vals.
If the Portable Vacuum Unit is supplied with a closed
filter bag in the collecting receptacle, there will be less
need for cleaning the fine filters. When changing from
a plastic sack to a filter bag, the fine filter must first be
thoroughly cleaned.
5.4 Frame
. Check the screw mountings, broken
parts should be replaced.
5.5 Wheels
• Check that the wheels are intact, are securely fit-
ted and roll easily, if necessary, lubricate or replace
the air pressure for air-filled wheels, recommended
pressure is indicated on the wheel.

if uncertainties arise

life.
Most Portable Vacuum Unit components (81% of the
total weight) can be recycled when scrapping the unit.
There are two metallic threaded inserts in the frame.
They must be removed prior to recycling. Most of the
plastic parts are labelled to facilitate sorting. Compon-
ents that at present cannot suitably be recycled can
be identified according to
.
In order to meet official requirements, American vari-
ants of the Portable Vacuum Unit with 1-phase motor
contain flameproofed components in the power unit
and these contain small amounts of bromine. Bromine
is classified as hazardous to health and must be dealt
with according to local directions when scrapping.
