Portable Vacuum Unit
• Stage 1 is a collecting receptacle into which larger
particles fall.
• Stage 2 is a fine filter.
• Stage 3 is a micro-filter (optional) with a degree of
separation > 99.997% (DOP).
Coarse particles are separated directly into the col-
lecting receptacle’s plastic sack.
If the Portable Vacuum Unit is supplied with a closed
filter bag instead of a plastic sack, most of the dust
will be deposited there. Fine dust follows the upward
moving flow of air and is deposited on the outside of
the filters. The Portable Vacuum Unit has a manual
function for cleaning the fine filters. The principle of
the cleaning function is that the control is switched
on, creating a pressure shock to dislodge dust from
the filters. The dust falls down and is collected in the
plastic sack of the receptacle.
Very small particles can pass through the filter pack-
age and on to the micro-filter (optional). This has a
very high degree of separation, > 99.997% (DOP).
The cleaned air moves on to the high-pressure fan in
the motor assembly. The air leaves the Portable Va-
cuum Unit via noise-abating ducts in the motor as-
sembly. If flow-through is too small over a sufficiently
long period, e.g. due to a closed flap valve or blocked
hose, the motors will become overheated. The suction
hose should therefore not be completely blocked for
longer than a few seconds. Clogged filters, which also
reduce the flow of air, can result in overheating.
NOTE!
The Portable Vacuum Unit should not be used
as a stationary vacuum appliance because of
the danger of overheating.
3.2 Power unit

. The motor assembly includes fan motor,
connection cable and starting equipment. Some mod-
els are equipped with automatic electric starters.
3.3 Filter/Filter package
CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage
The Portable Vacuum Unit should never be op-
erated with a filter bag only, but should always
be equipped with another filter. Check regu-
larly that the filter is not defective.

treated with anti-static agent and have smooth sur-
faces. This means there is reduced risk of sparks and
dust explosion, and ensures better cleaning.

plied with either a plastic sack (

CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage
The Portable Vacuum Unit should not be oper-
ated with only a filter bag, but should have an
additional filter.
3.5 Casing
The casing forms a container for the filter package.
It is important that the eccentric catches are secured
with locking cotters, see
3.6 Receptacle
. The receptacle has a flap valve for con-
necting the suction hose. The flap valve closes auto-
matically to prevent the spread of dust when the hose
is disconnected.

3.8 Pressure drop indication
A high pressure drop across the filters is indicated by a
lamp being lit,
item a. The lamp is lit if the fil-
ters need to be cleaned or replaced. The lamp is also
lit when the Portable Vacuum Unit is running with the
flap valve closed.
3.9 Wheels
. Depending on the model, the Portable
Vacuum Unit can be equipped with plastic wheels,
pneumatic rubber wheels or rubber wheels with a dia-
meter of 200 mm.
4 Using the Portable Vacuum Unit
The Portable Vacuum Unit is suitable for most types of
dust in industrial applications and on building sites.
NOTE!
There are important exceptions, see
. Oil mist can clog the filters.
In normal operation, without any electric tool connec-
ted, the Portable Vacuum Unit is started in mode I. If
an electric tool is connected to the Portable Vacuum
Unit, the switch is normally set in mode II.
