Setting Up and Using the Software 3-7
QUICK START
If you are familiar with setup programs and the NEC Versa family of com-
puters, follow these steps to run the Docking Station 6000 Setup utility.
1.
Install the CD-ROM reader in the NEC Versa 6000.
2.
Dock your NEC Versa on the Docking Station 6000 and power on the
system. (This is optional, however, we do recommend that you dock your
system. See Chapter 2 for docking instructions.)
3.
Boot into Windows.
4.
Close any Windows applications that may be running.
5.
Insert the Docking Station 6000 Software Setup CD into the reader. For
Windows for Workgroups systems, go to step 6 and continue.
In Windows 95 systems, select “Run” from the Start menu. Type
d
:\setup
(where
d
is the CD drive letter) and press
Enter
or click “OK.”
Respond to the utility as prompted.
If you register your EZ-SCSI software, choose Host Adapter AIC-7870.
When Setup is complete, reboot your system at the prompt.
6.
From the Windows Program Manager, access the File pull-down menu
and select “Run.” Type
d
:\setup
(where
d

press
Enter
or click “OK.”

After the Plug and Play Kit is installed, press “No” at the prompt to re-
