User Guide 

 

SAS Interface Cable 

To connect the Disk Expansion Unit to the disk array controller in the NEC Express server, 
connect the specified SAS interface cable to

 

the first SAS connector starting from the left of the 

server.   

CAUTION

 

 

 
Observe the following instructions to use the Disk Expansion Unit safely.   
Failure to follow these instructions may cause personal injury including burns 
and/or physical damages. Refer to the Safety Notes section for more 
information.

Do not connect the SAS interface cable halfway. 

„

 

Always pull out the power plug before connecting or disconnecting the SAS 

interface cable.   

„

 

Do not use any SAS interface cables that are not authorized by NEC. 

Installing a third-party interface cable may cause the Disk Expansion Unit not 
only to operate improperly but also to be defective. 

 

 

 

Installation 

IMPORTANT:

Turn off the power of the NEC Express server and the 

power unit of the Disk Expansion Unit before 
connecting the SAS interface cable.    Connecting the 
SAS interface cable while the NEC Express server and 
the Disk Expansion Unit are powered on may cause 
some malfunction or failure.
