Using Voyetra Sound Software 6-5
WAV PLAYER
The WAV Player records sound by turning incoming
electrical signals into numbers and saves it in computer
memory. To play back the sound, the software changes the
data back into electrical signals that the audio equipment
amplifies and directs to the speakers or headphones.
The data format created by the WAV Player is called
.WAV files which is compatible with Windows. The “tada”
sound that you hear when Windows 95 starts up is an
example of a .WAV file.
The following sections explain how to use the WAV Player
to record, play, and edit digital audio files.
