Tyco/Elpas Integration 

7.1 

General  

The M166 can be integrated with the Tyco/Elpas location detection system.  

The mechanism is as follows: 

When the M166 is equipped with a DLA card (inside the M166), it is capable of picking up 
radio signals from Tyco/Elpas Beacons. When the M166 detects such a beacon it will 
send a notification (RFID Event) to the Messaging application (via the DMLS).  

This RFID notification contains the RFID identifier that it newly detected and the RFID 
where it came from. The RFID is always one byte.   

Please note that this functionality requires a correct setup in the DECT Handset 
Configurator for the M166. For more info, consult 

Section 2.4 The Notifications Menu
