Windows NT Server Setup
You must answer several questions correctly to complete the installation of Windows NT Server. If
you do not answer these questions correctly, you might have to re-install the operating system.
Make sure you have the following information before continuing with the Windows NT Server
installation:
•
Name of your domain or workgroup.
•
Unique name of this system.
•
Whether the system is to be a Primary Domain Controller (PDC), a Backup Domain Controller
(BDC), or Stand-Alone Server.
Note: NT Setup may fail on servers with mixed processor steppings. Typically, the floppy drive
fails to operate, although other failures may occur. In such cases, it is necessary to disable all
processors. After installing NT, re-enable the processors.
After installing your operating system, basic server installation is complete.
