Magnetic Stripe Reader
A 3-track MSR head is available as an option. The ISO and JIS card
formats are supported.
When card data is read, an interrupt is generated. A software device
driver for the MSR must be loaded to allow the application to process
the data.
Optional Touch Screen Controller
On NCR 7455 Retail Terminals that contain the optional touch screen,
the MicroTouch
®
“Excalibur” chip is used to interface the touch panel.
This controller supports the MicroTouch 5 wire resistive panel.
In order to save an RS-232 port, the touch data is delivered to the
system through the PS/2 interface. This requires a mouse-aware touch
device driver for the appropriate OS.
Note:
The 7455 does not support PS/2 mouse devices on units that
have the optional touch screen because the touch screen uses the PS/2
port.
