CLIMBING / DESCENDING GRADIENTS
When ascending or descending a gradient, especially
when the skip is loaded, the skip
MUST ALWAYS
face the incline. To the right is a diagram for the
CORRECT
and
INCORRECT
ways to ascend and
descend gradients.
NEVER EXCEED THE MAXIMUM STATED
GRADIENTS.
CROSSING GRADIENTS
Muddy slippery ground conditions will effect the
ascending and descending capabilities of the machine.
Special care must be taken when crossing gradients with
these conditions to prevent the dumper sliding side
ways and out of control of the operator.
Always reverse down steep inclines
ONLY fill the skip with free flowing
materials.
Avoid driving down gradients if
possible. Use the brakes softly as sudden
sharp braking will induce weight
transfer on to the front wheels and may
cause stability issues.
MAX 25%
MAX 20%
The machine must always be in gear when moving.
NEVER FREE WHEEL THE DUMPER.
MAX 16%
Do not use the chassis stabiliser when
moving. It will cause the chassis to
become rigid and increase the
possibility of rolling over.
