13. Other tips
Storing of the sails
Sails of Nautica 450
are designed to be rolled. They shouldn’t be folded.
Main sheet
Tide the figure eight knot on the main sheet, so at its maximum ease the boom do not
touches the shrouds.
Genaker
Genaker should be stored at the dry place.
Top cover
After sailing it is good to use your top cover so the dust and dirt cannot damage your
blocks.
Cleaning
Rinse your boat with fresh water regularly to clean i up from dust, sand and salt (if sailed in
salty water). Stronger stains to your hull can be easily removed with polish paste.
Ropes
Check your ropes frequently. Replace those that show signs of wear or tear.
Road transport
During transport check frequently strap tension. Straps should be placed through mid od
hull and through bow. Trolley
should be fitted on a trailer’s axle.
Check if the mast and other equipment is securely fastened before you start your journey.
Your trolley should be fastened on the hook of towing vehicle according to instructions
provided with hook fitting. Additionally each trailer has a security wire, which should be
attached to hook as well.
Before you start towing check if all lights fo trailer are functional.

Do not rise your mast near overhead cables
Tape all bolts
Frequently tide all shackles, bolts and screws
Tape all edges near genaker area
Frequently check if all battens are fixed at their pockets.
