Fault Monitoring and Identification
The module continuously senses the current and temperature throughout the channels of the
board. If any current or temperature exceeds the specified limits, a fault is declared and the
NI.FIU.BoardFault
Boolean property is set to true. When a fault is detected, all switches
are opened, which stops all current and prevents damage to the module. The module must be
reset to clear the fault condition. Any attempt to change a switch's state after a fault will error
out if the module is not reset first.
Poll the
NI.FIU.BoardFault
property during normal operation to check if a fault
condition exists.
