GPIB-232CT User Manual

highest order bit of status, also called the sign bit, is set when
the GPIB-232CT detects either a GPIB error or a serial port
error. Consequently, when status is negative, an error
condition exists, and when status is positive, no error
condition exists.

GPIB-error represents a single GPIB error condition present.

Serial-error represents a single serial error condition present.
