LOCATION
H53.3
When connecting a two stage thermostat, the jumper (P5) must
be in the “NONE” position. The control runs high heat from the
thermostat W2 demand.
H53.2
The thermostat should be located approximately 5 feet (1524mm) above the
fl
oor, on an inside wall where there
is good natural air circulation, and where the thermostat will be exposed to average room temperatures. Avoid
locations where the thermostat will be exposed to cold drafts, heat from nearby lamps or appliances, exposure to
sunlight, heat from inside wall stacks, etc.

15.4 FURNACE PAIRED WITH HEAT PUMP
H53.5
With installation applications that combine a furnace and a heat pump
in conjunction with a thermostat which features dual fuel use, the
JW39 jumper on the furnace control board must be cut. If the jumper is
left intact, terminal “O” will remain energized effectively eliminating the
cooling mode of the heat pump.
