NAGRA – CLASSIC INT

SAT
Protection against clipping
Clipping may occur when you push the
amplifier to its limit, and the « SAT »
message will display.
While a short clipping will not even be heard, a hard clipping can
damage the amplifier or the loudspeakers. That’s why, after one
second of continuous clipping, the modulometer LEDs will turn red
and the CLASSIC INT will self-protect by entering into Protection
Mode.
Protection against short-circuits
In the event of a short-circuit across the speaker connectors, the
modulometer LEDs will turn red; after one second, the amplifier will
enter into Protection Mode. Before turning the unit ON again, you
should check the speaker connections.
Protection against DC direct current
A DC (direct current) component generated from the amplifier
could damage your loudspeakers. If a DC component of more than
+/- 2.5 V appears across the outputs of the CLASSIC INT, the
modulometer LEDs will turn red and the amplifier will enter into
Protection Mode.
Protection against overheating
If the amplifier runs too hot, it will shut down automatically. In this
case, the modulometer LEDs will turn red and the unit will shut
down. Wait until the temperature cools down before turning the
unit ON again.
NB If the room temperature is high, the amplifier operating range
will be smaller and the risk of amplifier overheating higher. Make
sure the room is at a comfortable temperature, preferably below
30° C.
