ACTIVATE TIMER OPERATION
When pressed, the [TIMER] button in the SR 9 remote control will activate
several timer modes. Toggle [TIMER] to step through the following modes:
Time Timer SLEEP
Refer to the VFD, when setting up Time, Timer and SLEEP modes.
SETTING THE CLOCK

Toggle [TIMER] to step through the following modes:

At “Time” mode, press [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob - “hour” value blinks.
Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to set the current hour.

Press again the [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob - “minute” value blinks.
Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to set the current minute. Press
[SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob – both the set “hour” and “minute” blinks.

Press [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to confirm the “Time” set and exit the
“Time” setting mode.
NOTES
• The C 717 uses the 24 hour “military” clock.
• When no action is taken for 1 minute, the time adjust mode is cancelled.
• To cancel time mode setting, press [STOP].
SETTING THE ON/OFF TIMER
Adjust the clock before setting the timer.

Toggle [TIMER] until “Timer” is displayed in the VFD. Press [SCROLL/
PUSH/ENTER] knob. “Timer Off” is displayed.

Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to switch to “Timer On”. Press again
the [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob - “hour” value blinks.

Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to set the desired hour setting.

Press again the [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob - “minute” value blinks.
Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to set the desired minute setting.

Press [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob – “SOURCE DVD” appears in the VFD.

Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to select between “Source DVD”
and “Source TUNER”. The C 717 will wake up from Standby mode at
either DVD mode or TUNER mode depending upon the default Source
selected.

Press [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob - “Timer Off” appears on the VFD.
“Timer Off” setting can only be set up to 90 minutes.

Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to setup the desired minute setting.

Press [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob again to exit the “Timer” setting
mode.
A red “clock face” will be illuminated in VFD upon setting up the Timer
On/Off settings.
SETTING UP SLEEP TIMER
Adjust the clock before setting the timer.

Toggle [TIMER] until “SLEEP 00” (the default) is displayed in the VFD.

Rotate [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to change the sleep time
increment. Each click rotation of the [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob
increases the sleep time in 5-minute increments from “SLEEP -00” to
“SLEEP -60” minutes. From “SLEEP -60” setting, the sleep time increment
changes into 10-minute increments. The Sleep time can be adjusted up
to a maximum of “SLEEP – 240”.

Press [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob to confirm the SLEEP setting and at
the same time exit the SLEEP timer setting mode. A “SLEEP” icon will
illuminate in the VFD.
When SLEEP mode is activated, the VFD’s brightness will decrease. To return
the VFD to its normal brightness, repeat the same procedure as above
except for step 2; this time, rotate the [SCROLL/PUSH/ENTER] knob until
“SLEEP -00”.
