
LATE NIGHT
Night listening mode allows one the option to make soft sounds
comparatively louder while limiting the peak loudness of loud ones. It
is useful when you watch your favorite action movie without disturbing
others at night. Toggle [LATE NIGHT] to switch between “NIGHT ON” and
“NIGHT OFF” mode.
night on:
The “NIGHT ON” setting is for late-night sessions or other
times when you wish to retain maximum dialog intelligibility while
minimizing overall volume levels. This is applicable only for Dolby
Digital soundtracks.
night off:
To maintain full dynamic range, set to “NIGHT OFF”.
STILL PICTURE AND FRAME-BY-FRAME PLAYBACK
Press [PAUSE] on the remote control or [PLAY/PAUSE] on the front panel
during playback. Advance the picture frame-by-frame by pressing [
]
repeatedly. To exit still motion mode, press [PLAY].
PROGRAMMING
The program function enables you to store your favorite tracks from any
disc in the player memory. When programming a sequence of tracks, the
C 717 must be in STOP mode. To program the sequence

prompted to a “PROGRAM INPUT” menu.

Use the number buttons to enter the desired track into the program.
Press the [
] keys to move up or down the sequence and at
the same time store the keyed-in track. To edit the programmed tracks,
return to the particular program number and re-enter your desired
track number. Scroll down to “CLEAR ALL” to reset the whole program
sequence.

Load up to 12 tracks into a program sequence. Press the [PLAY] button
or scroll down to “PLAY PROGRAM” to start the program sequence. The
upper line of the VFD will show “CD/Program” during program playback.
NOTE
Programming of MP3/WMA files is not supported by the C 717.
PLAYING MP3/WMA/JPEG
The C 717 can play MP3/WMA formatted recordings on CD-R or CD-RW
discs as well as view discs with JPEG files. You may mix any of the file types
on the disc.

Load the applicable disc. The OSD will display the folders or files as a
list. Use the SR 9’s [
] keys to navigate through the folders or
files. You must be at stop mode to access folders on the left side of the
menu window.

While at the desired file, press [ENTER] or [PLAY] to start playback.
When available, information about the Song, Album, Genre, Artist, Year and
Comment will be displayed in the lower section of the window screen.
random plaY
Press the SR 9’s [RANDOM] button for random playback of applicable file
types within the current folder. To initiate random playback across all
available MP3/WMA files or folders, toggle [REPEAT] button until “FOLDER
REPEAT” appears in the OSD. Thereafter, press [RANDOM] and [ ] to start
random playback.
RANDOM playback for JPEG files applies only to available JPEG files and will
not include MP3/WMA and vice-versa.
repeat
Press the SR 9’s [REPEAT] button repeatedly to repeat a single file, folder,
the entire folder lists or until “REPEAT OFF.” The OSD and VFD will display the
repeat mode.
rotate picture
Press [
] keys during the showing of a picture to rotate the
picture “90 Deg”, “180 Deg”, “270 Deg” and back to “Original”.
DIVX PLAYBACK
Using the C 717, you can play DivX discs.

Insert a disc and close the disc tray. The OSD will display the folders or
files as a list.
