DANGER!
A warning of this category indicates a dangerous situations.
Avoid dangerous environments, particularly very smoky and humid. If the dangerous situation is not avoided, it may
lead to serious injury or even death. Follow the instructions in this warning to avoid the danger of serious injury
or even
death.
Before using the tapping machine, basic safety precautions are required as:
• Before starting up the machine, the latter must be connected to the user’s earth system. Be sure that the electric installation is
effected in the right way.
• We specially recommend that the power supply cable be protected by a rigid cover in order to avoid impacts.
•
Do not start up the machine until you have verified that the arm column is well fixed, the guards are positioned and all the
doors are closed.
• Only use the tools and accessories recommended. The use of inappropriate equipment, exceeding the machine’s capacity,
can be dangerous.
• Inspect the machine every day and make a report about any defect before starting it up.
• Maintain the working table free of tools and materials, so that they may not interfere in the tapping process being carried
out.
• During the tapping process, never hold the piece with your hand.
• Wear gloves and eye protections when operating with the machine. At all moments, keep your hands and clothes out of
reach of the head. Likewise, long hair should be tied behind or under a cap.
• Tapping certain material can generate dangerous dust and smoke. In such circumstances it is imperative that the work
should be carried out in the correct way, and with additional safety equipment or taking the necessary precautions. It is the
machine user’s responsibility to assure that such conditions or precautions are observed.
• Disconnect the machine from any power supply for any cleaning and maintenance work.
• Under certain conditions, noise level may exceed 80 dB. It is therefore recommended that all people being near should
wear ear protections, and further precautions should be taken if the level exceeds 90 dB. The selection of the tool, material
to work and speeds may be an important factor in the generation of noise.
• Never place on the table weights exceeding 2000 kg. Take into account the need to use lifting materials such as cranes,
jibs, etc…, in the event of having to handle manually pieces/tools weighing more than 10 kg.
•
The pieces to tap should be fixed with devices assuring completely the fixing. Be sure that the pieces are perfectly
supported and fixed.
• Keep the working area free of chips and follow the recommendations with regard to the coolants, greases, etc.
•
The cooling fluid should be adjusted so that it may give the adequate lubrication to the tapping, minimizing the splash to
the floor. Always maintain the machine and close areas clean and free of tools, chips and pieces.
• Carry out a test, with no load, of all the machine controls (including the optional ones), to be sure that it has not suffered
any impact or manipulation during the charge, shipment or discharge operations.
• Never use the machine if you know that it is faulty or that any part is lacking.
• Weekly, verify the emergency buttons, located in the main panel (front part of the machine) and in the head (upper hinged
part).
