Please read the instructions carefully before first use. Keep the instruc-
tions for later reference.
WARNINGS
The Outdoor Oven is intended for outdoor use only!
Non-compliance with the instructions may cause damage to
the user or the environment. The parts of the Outdoor Oven
get extremely hot when the oven is in use. Please make sure
that children or pets do not get too close to the hot oven. Do
not move the Outdoor Oven while it is in use. All modifications
made on the Outdoor Oven may cause dangerous situations
and invalidate the manufacturer’s guarantee. Never burn waste
material in the Outdoor Oven. Only use grill charcoal, briquet-
tes or chopped wood as fuel. Never use oily, pressure treated,
painted, glued or chemically treated wood as fuel. Never leave
the Outdoor Oven unguarded. Be prepared to extinguish the
embers or the fire instantly and safely, if necessary.
Burning material
Never attempt to light the charcoal or firewood by blowing directly on
it. This may cause hot ashes to whirl up and cause burns.
Do not light the oven with flashing firelighters. We recommend Muu-
rikka Lighter Blocks or Kindling Wood Rolls for safe and calm lighting.
Do not extinguish burning material by throwing water into the Out-
door Oven – the hot steam may cause serious danger.
Let the embers burn down and die by themselves. You can speed up
the process by closing the air valves in the chimney and the door in
the firebox.
Ventilation and safety distances
Make sure that there is adequate ventilation where the Outdoor Oven
is used – never use it in a closed space. When charcoal and wood are
used as fuel, carbon monoxide may develop in a closed space. Carbon
monoxide is an odourless, colourless and non-irritating gas which may
cause poisoning. With adequate ventilation, the Outdoor Oven can be
used safely.
Make sure that the Outdoor Oven is placed on a solid and non-com-
bustible surface. A good, non-combustible surface may for example
consist of slabs, tiles, sand or gravel. If you use the Outdoor Oven in
a terrace with a wooden floor, make sure there is a fireproof mat or
non-combustible material such as sheet metal under the oven. The
non-combustible surface must cover an area of at least 0,5 m from the
sides and ends of the oven. Also make sure that there is no inflam-
mable material around the Outdoor Oven. The oven should be placed
at a distance of at least 1 m from the nearest construction made of
combustible material.
The Outdoor Oven is protected against wind when its doors are all
closed. When you open a door, remember how the wind may affect
the embers or the burning material – a whirling wind may cause
sparks to fly out of the firebox.
Use
Fill the Outdoor Oven moderately with charcoal or firewood. An
excessive amount may cause the Outdoor Oven to overheat and be da-
maged. Overheating will also invalidate the manufacturer’s guarantee.
Always use heat-resistant gloves or oven gloves when you touch the
hot parts of the Outdoor Oven.
Place the charcoal or firewood through the bottom door onto the gra-
tings in the firebox. Make sure that the ash box is properly in place.
When you light the charcoal or firewood in the Outdoor Oven, open
the air valve in the firebox door and the chimney valve completely to
get a good draught in the chimney and sufficiently air in the firebox.
When the Outdoor Oven lights and burns well, it practically smokes
only through the chimney. When the embers have started glowing
well, you can reduce the air intake through the air valve.
Keep an eye on the Outdoor Oven temperature by watching the ther-
mometer. When the Outdoor Oven has reached the desired tempera-
ture, place the food through the oven door onto the gratings in the
top part. Also watch the thermometer while the food is in the oven. If
necessary, you can also add charcoal or firewood through the firebox
door while cooking. Consider that the oven temperature may drop a
little while you are opening doors. You may check the cooking process
from time to time through the oven door. When the food is done, take
it out with the grill tongs. Don’t burn your fingers on the hot oven.
How to make a pizza
The pizza stone is a natural product. Great variations in temperature
may cause tension and cracks in the stone. The guarantee and right to
exchange do not concern small cracks in the stone caused by incorrect
use.
Clean the pizza stone before use with a clean, wet cloth. Do not clean
the pizza stone with any detergents or chemicals – they soak into the
pores in the stone and from there into the food.
When you make pizza with a pizza stone, let the stone be inside the
oven while you are heating up the oven. Place the pizza on the hot
pizza stone when the oven is hot. Use for example a pizza spade or a
wide grill turner. The pizza stone heats up the pizza base evenly and
absorbs moisture. When you are using a pizza stone, remember that
the thinner you roll out the dough, the more the pizza will taste like a
crisp restaurant pizza.
After use, let the pizza stone cool by itself – do not immerse the hot
stone in cold water! It is normal for a pizza stone to darken from use.
The darkening is due to the pores in the natural material and does not
affect the characteristics of the stone.
Cleaning and storage
First wait until the embers have died and the oven has cooled. You
can beat the remaining charcoal out of the grating into the ash box
and then empty the ash box into a metal bucket. Make sure that the
charcoal has cooled completely before you empty the ash box. You can
take the gratings out of the oven and clean them with a grill cleaning
brush. If necessary, you can also wash the gratings with water and
detergent.
Your Outdoor Oven will last longer if the ash is removed regularly, for
example with an ash brush. Cleaning the oven is particularly impor-
tant before a longer period of storage. If the Outdoor Oven is stored
sheltered from rain, for example under a roof, its useful life will be
considerably longer.
Warranty

The warranty concerns material and manufacturing defects. Thewar-
ranty does not concern defects caused by careless use or neglected
maintenance. The warranty does not concern normal wear caused by
normal use.
