4. Installation

4.1 Remove Fiber Jacketing
Using the appropriate tool per cable type (flat
drop stripper shown) cut and peel back 20” in
total. 18” will be used for fiber breakout with
2” for the CSM clamp. Cut and remove the
fiber jacketing exposing the fiber and the CSM
(Central Strength Members).
4.2 Cut Central Strength Member(s)
Measure 2” from the fiber jacketing and cut both
Central Strength Members and remove any
additional scrap that may be left from cutting. This
should result in 2” of exposed CSM.
4.3 Install CSM Clamp and Tie Anchor
Attach the CSM clamp to the base of the Fiber Tap
Plus using the supplied hardware. Be sure to install
the clamp on the entry port side of the base. If you
have a base with two entry ports then install both
accordingly. DO NOT tighten the CSM clamp all
the way down but just loose enough to slide the
CSM under the clamp. Insert the included fiber
management clip into the slot on the middle of the
base at position 2 in the orientation shown.
4.4 Install Field Installable Connectors
On each of the 250µm from the buffer tubes install a
field installable connector on the preferred number
of fibers to be inserted into the appropriate amount
of adapters in the cover. For additional details
please refer to the Field Installable Connectors
installation guide on our website www.gomultilink.
