8.24.6 Engine Monitoring Unit EMU 8 – Removal and installation

Preconditions

☑

Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

NOTICE

Wrong engine governor installed.
Engine damage!
• When reassembling an engine, make sure that the governor with the data record for the given engine

is installed.

Removing Engine Control Unit
with Engine Monitoring Unit
from engine

1.

Note or mark assignment of cables and con-
nectors.

2.

Remove all screws from cable clamps (3).

3.

Undo clips (4) on connectors.

4.

Disconnect all connectors.

5.

Remove screws (5).

6.

Remove Engine Control Unit (1) with Engine
Monitoring Unit (2).

Removing Engine Monitoring Unit

1.

Unscrew screws on base of EMU (2).

2.

Remove EMU 8 (2) from ECU (1).

Installing Engine Monitoring Unit

1.

Place EMU 8 (2) on ECU (1).

2.

Screw in and tighten screws on base of EMU (2).

Installing Engine Control Unit with Engine Monitoring Unit on engine

1.

Install in reverse order ensuring correct assignment of connectors and sockets.

2.

Check resilient mount before installing.

Result:

If resilient mount is porous or faulty then replace it.
