Personal Informa7on and Data Security
The use of some func[ons or third-‐party applica[ons on your mobile phone could result in
your personal informa[on and data being lost or becoming accessible to others. Several
measures are recommended to help you protect personal and confiden[al informa[on.
• Keep your mobile phone on your person. Do not leave it una+ended.
• Set your phone screen to lock and create a password or unlock pa+ern to open it.
• Periodically back up personal informa[on kept on your SIM/UIM card, memory card, or
stored in your phone memory. If you change to a different mobile phone, be sure to move or
delete any personal informa[on on your old phone.
• If you are worried about viruses when you receive messages or emails from a stranger, you
can delete them without opening them.
• If you use your mobile phone to browse the Internet, avoid websites that might pose a
security risk to avoid theg of your personal informa[on.
• If you use services such as Wi-‐Fi tether or Bluetooth, set passwords for these services to
prevent unauthorized access. When these services are not in use, turn them off.
• Install or upgrade mobile phone security sogware and regularly scan for viruses.
• Be sure to obtain third-‐party applica[ons from a legi[mate source. Downloaded third-‐
party applica[ons should be scanned for viruses.

• Some applica[ons require and transmit loca[on informa[on. As a result, a third party may
be able to share your loca[on informa[on.
• Your mobile phone may provide detec[on and diagnos[c informa[on to third party

services.
