The permitted operating range of the basic device may be restricted through the modification with appropriate MSA
components. Once a component is used, which has a different operating range than the basic device, then the
operating range of the component with the most restricted (limited) operating range applies to the new complete
product. The operator of the device is responsible for the documentation of such a modification.
