MAINTENANCE

MACHINE INSPECTION

Perform machine inspection as listed in Table 7.

TIGHTENING TORQUE

Reference Table 8 below (Tightening Torque ), for retight-

ening of nuts and bolts.

CYCLONE DUAL FILTER ELEMENT TYPE 1

This Honda GX390 engine is equipped with a replaceable, 

high-density paper air cleaner element. See Figure 26 for 

air cleaner components.
1.  Remove the air cleaner cover and foam filter element.
2.  Tap the paper filter element several times on a hard 

surface to remove dirt, or blow compressed air not 

exceeding 30 psi (207 kPa, 2.1 kgf/cm

2

) through the 

filter element from the inside out. 

NEVER

 brush off 

dirt. Brushing will force dirt into the fibers. Replace the 

paper filter element if it is excessively dirty.
