Managing Media From a Networked PC
How to Load/Delete Music, Videos, Photos & Home Videos over the network
Follow these steps to Load or Delete media including Music, Photos and home Videos
from the ShowStar.
Note
:
DVD and Blu-ray Movies should not be managed over the network
.
Load and Delete Movies from the on-screen TV Library.
Steps to Load or Delete Music, Photos and Videos over the network
1.
Create a mapped drive on a PC to the ShowStar„s Drive X:/media
From a networked Windows PC (or Mac etc.), browse to the ShowStar and map a
drive letter to a ShowStar Media drive. Example:
In
Windows
– Open up
Explorer, Search
or
Run
and type the name of the
ShowStar into the command line as follows:
\\Dxyz
– where Dxyz = the name of
the ShowStar. The ShowStar name is located on the rear panel serial number label.
2.
Login to the ShowStars media drive by double clicking on it
.
You may need to login with: Name:
admin
Password:
mmaxpas
3.
Right click on a
Media Drive
and select
Map Network Drive
– select
Reconnect at logon
. Open up the media folder to view the media folders.
4.
Create a short cut
to any or all of the media folders of media you want to
manage including music, photos and videos ie: –
right click on music
–
select
Create a shortcut
. Copy and paste this shortcut onto your desktop.
You now should have instant access on your PC to Load and/or Delete Music,
Photos and Videos folders on the ShowStar.
5.
Check to see that the
new media appears
on the ShowStars Library.
While photos should appear immediately since they are ―Browsed― not
―Stored― in the Photos library on the ShowStar, Music and Videos may take a
few minutes to appear since their folders are auto-scanned every 5 minutes.
To quicken the scanning process you can manually close and open the Music
Library and you can scan for new Videos by clicking on the
Scan Covers
button in the Player‘s Movie Library to scan for a newly loaded video.
Caution – Scan your media for viruses before loading
: Be very careful not to
load any viruses by scanning your videos before loading them.
