Level 1 and 2 Service Manual

Disassembly

Removing and Replacing the Microphone and Microphone Grommet

Remove battery cover, battery, SIM, antenna, rear housing, and transceiver
board assembly as described in the procedures.

As shown in Figure 10, use the plastic tweezers to lift the microphone assembly
out of its socket in the front housing.

Slip the grommet from the microphone.

To replace, slip the microphone into the microphone grommet as shown in the
figure, then insert the assembly into the socket on the front housing assembly.
Ensure the microphone assembly is fully seated in the front housing assembly.

This product contains static-sensitive devices. Use anti-static handling procedures
to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) and component damage.

Do not damage the microphone elastomer when removing or replacing the micro-
