GETTING THE MOST
FROM YOUR HEAT
TREATMENT PACK
The following information has

to help you get the best from
this product.
Ice therapy - using
cold compress pack
•
During an initial injury, tissue
damage can cause uncontroled
swelling. This swelling can
increase the damage of the
initial injury and delay the
healing time.
•
If you use the cold compress
pack immediately you can
reduce the amount of swelling.
•
Start using the cold pack as
soon as possible after the injury.
The cold compress pack can be
used to decrease:- swelling,
tissue damage, blood clot
formation, inflammation, muscle
spasms, and pain.
•
Treat injuries with the cold
compress pack for the first 48-
72 hours after injury.
•
The length of treatment time
requires is dependent on the
type of injury. A deep muscle
injury takes longer to cool than
a joint.
NOTE: Only use for max 20 min
at a time or until the area
becomes numb. You can repeat
this up to 8 times a day.
•
If the pain persists please call a
doctor.
•
Do not use if you have the
following conditions:
Rheumatoid arthritis,
Raynaud’s Synndrome,
cold allergic conditions,
Paralysis
Areas of impaired sensation
(numbness)
Do not use on blisters or open
cuts or sores.
WARNING: Never apply
the pack without the
polar fleece cover. You
could cause skin
damage.
Heat therapy- using
heat pack
•
Heat is generally used for
chronic injuries or injuries that
have no inflammation. Sore, stiff,
nagging muscle or joint pain is
ideal for the use of heat therapy.
•
Heat can reduce muscle
spasms, reduce joint stiffness
and make soft tissue more
limber.
•
Heat can be used to help loosen
tight muscles and joints during a
warm up before exercise.
NOTE: Do not apply heat after
exercise.
•
You should
not
use the heat
pack for the first few days after
an injury or while your injury that
has any swelling because heat
increases blood flow and can
worsen swelling.
•
Use the heat pad for 15-20
minutes or longer if it has been
recommended by your health
care provider.
•
If the pain persists please call a
doctor.
•
Because heat increase
circulation and raises skin
temperature. Do not use to the
following conditions:
Acute injuries or injuries that
show the sign of inflammation,
Rheumatoid arthritis,
Raynaud’s Synndrome,
Paralysis
Areas of impaired sensation
(numbness)
Do not use heat on blisters or
open cuts or sores.
